On the 5th March 2025, we co-hosted an event with the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) on Building knowledge and good practice to improve diversity and inclusivity in clinical trials. We knew AMRC members do some fantastic work in this area, and this opportunity helped showcase the vital work charities are doing.

This was an in-person, full-day event aimed at individuals involved or leading in clinical trial development/delivery/recruitment/engagement/funding. The event brought together AMRC members and industry, as well as leaders from other organisations from across the sector including NHS England, HRA, NIHR, and MHRA.

The event was designed to:

• Showcase and explore good practice and insights for approaches to increasing diversity and inclusion in clinical trials.
• Bring together recommendations from across the diverse communities involved in this work
• Support the creation of a community of practice that can draw on the diverse skills and experience of the network to continually improve inclusivity in trials and spread and scale the impact.
• Produce a short publication/infographic as a memory of the event that ensures learnings can be shared and spread from the day.
