Page 1
  • £2.2 billion: The total value of infrastructure and equipment grants, funded by AMRC members between 1st January 2014 and 31st December 2023, awarded to host institutions based in the UK. This value was calculated from grants data that was collected as part of the AMRC annual data collections during this time.

  • 60%: Percentage of AMRC members who support any form of research infrastructure within the UK. This is calculated from answers to the 2024 AMRC member annual survey, where we asked “Supporting research in the UK can mean more than just response mode funding. Do you provide any of the following: Centre/institute in a university setting; Standalone centre/institute not in a university setting; Multi-location or network of centres, within university setting; Virtual network; Other (please specify) 

  • 37: Number of AMRC members who provide core support for university centres and institutes. This is the number of charities who said that they provide support to a Centre/institute in a university setting, in the 2024 AMRC member annual survey.

  • 39: 20 AMRC members are supporting registries. 19 AMRC members previously ran or funded registries. These figures are from an AMRC patient registry survey 2023.
