A common definition of prevention research was provided, and this figure includes primary (preventing disease before it occurs), secondary (early detection and screening) and tertiary (preventing relapse, reoccurrence or accumulation of multiple health conditions) prevention research. £28 million: The value of grants awarded by AMRC charities that were coded for primary prevention in the UK Health Research Analysis 2022 (HCRS Research Activity Group 3: Prevention). 7 out of top 20 public funders: The number of AMRC member charities who contributed the largest value of grants coded for primary prevention in the UK Health Research Analysis 2022 (HCRS Research Activity Group 3: Prevention).
