  1. FAQs

Networks and groups

We connect our member charities and supporter organisations through several networks and groups to encourage collaboration and shared learning.

Data Matters

This group is for anyone in our member charities who has an interest in health data use for research.

The group meets quarterly to hear about and discuss the latest developments in health data for research and other, related, digital health developments.

We also send bi-monthly newsletters to the group along with ad-hoc updates with relevant updates.

If you would like to join the group’s mailing list please get in touch with our team at [email protected]

COMMSunity

This group is for anyone working in our member charities or supporter organisations with an interest in communications.

We meet every three months to share learning on communications and network with each other.

If you would like to join the group’s mailing list please get in touch with our communications team at [email protected]. The mailing informs you about upcoming meetings, AMRC-led reports and social media campaigns, and potential media opportunities.

Exploring Impact

This group is for anyone working in our member charities with an interest in sharing best practice on research impact and receiving practical impact take-aways that can be implemented at their charity.

We meet several times a year to explore different topics related to impact, including data, dashboards, analysis, tools, reports and more.

If you would like to join the group’s mailing list please get in touch with us at [email protected]

Finance Directors Network

This group is for Finance Directors working in our member charities to discuss shared experiences and challenges and to come together to hear from experts in the field.

We meet two to three times a year to gain information and support on specific areas of finance and corporate services.

If you would like to join the group’s mailing list please get in touch with our Events Officer, Tehilloh at [email protected]

Heads of Policy Network

This group offers both an opportunity to share insight and network with other Heads of Policy while also feeding into key discussions about AMRC policy activity.

The group meets quarterly and is for Heads of Policy only. Our Policy and Public Affairs Working Group may be of interest to other policy and public affairs team members.

If you would like to join the group please email our team at [email protected]

HR Network

Our HR Network is open to any senior employees at AMRC member charities who have a formal role in delivery of HR, people or culture expertise in their organisation.

New members are welcome – please contact our Director of Membership and Operations, Karen, ([email protected]) for more information.

Policy and Public Affairs Working Group (PAWG)

This group is for anyone working in policy or public affairs in our member charities or supporter organisations.

We meet twice a year to share updates on key policy and public affairs issues and network with each other. We also host two webinars annually.

Ad-hoc updates on emerging policy developments are regularly shared with the group via its mailing list.

If you would like to join the group’s mailing list please get in touch with our public affairs officer, Tom at [email protected]

Research Management Working Group (RMWG)

This group is for anyone working in research management in our member charities and supporter organisations.

We meet every three to four months to share learning on research management issues and network with each other. We also run a closed online forum, which allows us to freely post questions, discuss issues we’re facing, and ask each other for advice and support.

A monthly e-newsletter with relevant updates from AMRC and important news from across the sector is shared with the group.

If you would like to join the group’s mailing list please contact our Research Funding Officer, Saba at [email protected].

Research Directors Forum

The Research Directors Forum is a network that brings together Directors and Associate Directors of Research and Innovation from a broad range of AMRC member charities that fund medical research to discuss topics of importance to the sector, and work together on shared priorities and network.

If you would like to join the group's mailing list, please contact our Research Funding Manager, Sarah at [email protected]

EDI Working Group

All member charities are invited to join AMRC’s EDI Working Group. Meeting on an ad-hoc basis 2-3 times a year, the group is an opportunity to inform AMRC's work on EDI, hear about the latest developments in the sector, and connect with other charities seeking to make changes to how they fund research.

If you would like to join the group please get in touch with our Research Funding Manager, Sarah, at [email protected].
