Made with Visme Infographic Maker Data notes From the 150 AMRC member charities, 116 awarded grants starting in 2023, and all provided data on the use of animals. Of these charities, 67 (57.8%) funded at least one grant involving animals starting in 2023. Of the total 2,372 grants in which the use of animals, or otherwise was reported, 495 (20.9%) involved animals. Species reported were amphibian, chicken, dog, ferret, fish, fruit fly, guinea pig, hamster, insect, macaque, marmoset, mouse, pig, rabbit, rat, sheep, worm and zebrafish Of the 495 grants that reported using animals, 434 (87.7%) answered if the animals were genetically modified. 307 grants involved genetically modified animals, representing 70.7% of 434.
